The MPT course is a fabulous way for PT’s to offer something a little more holistic: a way of addressing mental health as well as physical health. Peter’s knowledge about meditation itself is fascinating, & the method he has created to bring meditation into the 21st century is practical & doable. Over a 2 day course he conveys his step-by-step MPT system to PT’s giving them a simple, highly teachable structure which they can then take away & start using on their own clients. Brilliant!

I was recommended Peter by a friend and went in with some significant doubts. I had always viewed meditation as a religious thing, with chanting, orange robes and all that.
I am very pleased to say that what Peter teaches is nothing like that. Peter teaches a clear, simple technique which has already had a significant positive impact on my life. I left my first session with a real feeling of “there might be something to this…” – A feeling which has only since grown into a fully fledged belief in the power of meditation.
Peter is an excellent, and very knowledgeable, teacher. He truly understands not only meditation but the realities of meditation for the average person. As a newly qualified PT I really enjoyed the opportunity to learn practical, evidence based stress management techniques that the Meditation Personal trainer course provided. Having provided workplace wellbeing in previous employment roles, it is great to now be able to combine my personal training knowledge with this REPS endorsed course that I can use as part of my workplace wellbeing package (the CPD points were a pleasant bonus- but I would have done this course even without them).
The course instructor took the time to answer the many questions that we had, and gave practical demonstrations and offered followed up support. Very enjoyable course, the venue was great (particularly the amazing garden space and warm staff). Definitely worth the weekend trip to Norwich!

I started my practice of meditation with Peter 5 years ago.
Along the way, I tried different techniques and found this to be the one that works best for me, not only as a relaxation technique, but as a very powerful tool for effective decision making.
Peter is an extraordinary teacher. A natural motivator, very experienced meditator, genuinely focused and concerned about his clients. He is a true believer in people.
Before meeting him, I would see my life as a collection of old faded pictures, an amalgam of events in which I had poor control. Somehow, most of time I felt too late to catch my train of opportunities. I had to run.
With the unfolding of this practice this perception has changed completely. I’m more secure, focused and determined. The best way to describe it is with the following analogy: life changed from feeling like this collection of blurry pictures into a very vivid movie. In this movie I’m not only living it, but also directing it, writing it and playing the soundtrack at the same time. I still have my moments of challenge and drama, but there’s a different understanding of them. Besides, what great movie hasn’t got them?
The train of opportunities now slows down as I walk firmly towards it.

I began meditating out of curiosity. Not sure what to expect or what I hoped to achieve; quite simply 2 friends had offered glowing reports after starting it, and suggested it might be good for me. Peter Francis was the person teaching them. And though curious, I approached meditation with a little scepticism, perhaps associating it with a particular lifestyle or personality to which I didn’t identify. Now, almost 5 years later I wish I had tried it sooner.
Peter Francis is a great teacher. Smart, curious, thoughtful, extremely clear, practical and with the firm belief that anyone can learn to meditate. I have tried other approaches to meditation but find Peter’s technique and style to be the best. His approach is to give you a simple tool which improves your life. I began meditation sessions with Peter Francis just over eighteen months ago. Having attended meditation classes in the past I always knew I wanted to do incorporate meditation into a daily routine but had never felt able to with the techniques I’d learnt. I am happy to say that since working with Peter there have been very few days in the past year and a half when I haven’t meditated.
Peter’s teaching approach is excellent because he takes time to talk to you to find out what you need from meditation. He then prescribes techniques for you as an individual. Its great working with Peter because his main concern is to help people fulfil their own potential.
Meditation has changed my life, and this is not a drastic statement. I have had long term health problems with depression and anxiety, part of my issue was that I did not feel capable or worthy to successfully develop my career in the arts. In the past year I have begun to work seriously on my personal progress as an artist, including organising two exhibitions of my work and applying for (and getting) jobs I never thought I could because I didn’t have the confidence.
Perhaps the biggest gift Peter’s guidance has given me is the ability to think clearly. Anxiety is such a horrible illness and when it takes hold you can feel utterly helpless. It’s like your mind prevents you from doing anything and has this nasty grip on you both mentally and physically. When I started meditating a strange and brilliant thing happened, that helplessness started to lift. Now when I get into,what I used to call the “anxious mind loop” (where you keep going over and over the same situation or problem in your mind), I can break that loop and sensibly look at the problem to find a solution.
I am so pleased to have met Peter. His teaching has provided me with the understanding that I can be a happy and strong person. Once I didn’t believe that was possible. Now meditation is a part of my daily routine, I would even say that it’s a pretty awesome life style choice.

I have met Peter on a Kitty Business Networking event and at that time I was looking to learn meditation. I was at a beginning of starting up a business and felt a lot of pressure and confusion and frustration. I have played with a few variations of meditation over the years mostly, when I practised martial arts in my late teens. But once I started running my own business at the age of 23 I found that I was “too busy” to find time pah… meditating. It was all go, go, go, full guns blazing, it’s time to take on the world and provide the best service possible!
There was always more important things to be focusing my attention on. And being very passionate about what I do it isn’t hard to fill my time with exciting new ventures, plans, courses or simply things to do on my ever increasing “to do” list!
I knew all the benefits of meditation but started to find it increasingly hard to “switch off” after a busy day motivating and coaching other people plus finding time to get back to emails and calls and getting little jobs done. And I was aware that my increased adrenal and cortisol levels were sometimes preventing me from resting and sleeping effectively. I was also finding that this state of mind was interfering with my ability to prioritise and I was focusing my spare time on either distracting from feeling overwhelmed or inefficient behaviour confusing activity with accomplishment! Well the end result after several years of this was “burn out” and adrenal fatigue!
I slowly got myself back on track and a big part of that strategy was calling in Peter to give me a meditation technique that suited me. I knew that 20 minutes of meditation was like getting hours of quality sleep but I was struggling with the meditation versions I had tried in the past and knew Peter had tried many variations and practical applications and that I would find something that worked for me without all the nonsense to go with it.
The technique Peter gave me was very quick to use and certainly a no nonsense strategy of meditation which fit me perfectly. As a busy guy I like to be able to justify my time and I found that within just a couple of practise sessions I was sleeping better, more focused on the important things, felt more relaxed and had a better quality of energy.
I have since found that my use of time is far more purposeful and less avoidance meaning that I get more done in less time. Something I’m sure that most people would benefit from! And as a result I have no problem finding time to meditate if I feel I need to plus have more time for other things that I want to do.
In a nutshell Pete gave me some great techniques, guided me through the process very professionally which impressed me (especially thinking that I knew it all) and his follow up sessions surprised me still with extra gems of useful guidance. I got my money back from the 3 sessions I had within 1 week simply from being able to focus my attention on the high return important “jobs to do”!
I also find that now being a competitive boxer competing every few months and training very hard in between I have my best weeks of training when accompanied with some short meditations and better quality down time. Not to mention make better decisions in the way that I choose to respond to stressful situations whether at home, play or work.
Thanks Pete it was just what I needed.
